Bloom
Hong Si
6 Nov - 30 Nov
Opening night 13 Nov
Hong’s paintings are poetic, filled with her emotions and observation. Her unique artistic language expresses the beauty of nature. Some of her works are gentle and tranquil, elegant and fresh. Other works are bright and passionate, with the endless charm of nature and the power and beauty of life. Every flower in her paintings is a proof of vitality. The flowers convey the trajectory of life through the process of growth, blooming and withering. The life of flowers is like a dazzling star, bringing hope and warmth to people.

Transcience
Oscar Garcia

Opening night 13 Nov
'Transcience' is a selection of works that were inspired by incidental moments of existential questioning - questions about life and purpose, time and what we do with ours. The occasional pondering we can all relate to.
"In my work I aim to explore the elusive energy and narratives that shape our human landscape"

The Night Passes
Fiona Davies
04 Dec - 21 Dec
Opening Night: 11 Dec
The starting point for these works was walking in the apparent emptiness of the nocturnal hospital corridor, or driving on a deserted road. Both sites of transition. Not somewhere to stay for long. The sounds heard in the corridor are layers of unattended alarms, the sound of muffled crying, the sounds of muffled conversations, the sounds of sleep, and the sound of footsteps. If unsettled, those awake in the corridor at night can experience a liminal temporality. It can be an experience of occupation, a staying, rather than transiting quickly through to a destination. The corridor can become without a destination, a semi permeable membrane where somethings things are held and others allowed to pass.
The process of making enables a shift from observational (as a traditional anthropological western-centered way of knowing) to an embodied immersive listening method, a way to be in the corridor or driving on a deserted road.

Gary Gregg + Daniela Minns = Conversations in Mark Making
Gary Gregg, Daniela Minns
04 Dec - 21 Dec
Opening Night: 11 Dec
For the abstract artist, marks are a language, a way to express ideas as art.
In this exhibition, father and daughter, Gary Gregg and Daniela Minns have expressed their respective ideas through new paintings.
In addition, the artists have produced a series of experimental works on paper by means of conversations in mark making.
Each artist commenced with sets of papers of various sizes and made a mark on each page. The pages were exchanged and each artist responded with an additional mark. The pages travelled back and forth between the two artists’ studios, accumulating marks until it was agreed that a drawing was finished.
The title for the show 'Conversations in mark making' is apposite as it refers not only to the process of the abstract drawing project but to the dialogue between father and daughter about art and painting that has been ongoing throughout their lives.
