About Cinzia Cremona
Dr Cinzia Cremona is an Italo-British artist, researcher, and academic whose relational practice spans video, performance, participation, and digital processes. Now based on Gadigal Land in Eastern Sydney, Cinzia explores interpersonal and social relationships through screen-mediated interactions—often grounded in familiar, everyday settings such as shared meals or conversations. Her work pays particular attention to the voices and experiences of women, exposing the power structures and emotional dynamics embedded in even the simplest human exchanges.
Cremona holds a PhD in practice-based research from the University of Westminster (London), a BA Honours from Central St Martins College of Arts, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Essex. She is currently a Casual Academic and Student Advisor at The University of Sydney and a Research Associate at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (University of Dundee).
Her internationally exhibited work has been collected across Australia, Europe, the USA, Russia, China, and Japan. Recent projects include Hands On (2024), a live performance exploring shared flesh and memory through red bread dough, and Convivio (2023–24), a community artwork supported by Randwick Council that invites women to gather around a table inspired by Leonardo’s Last Supper.
Cinzia’s academic contributions include chapters in Creating Digitally and Art and Dance in Dialogue (Palgrave), and co-editing Transacting as Art, Design and Architecture (Intellect). She is also a member of the research cluster Critical Practice at University of the Arts London, where she continues to engage in collaborative and expanded performative research.
